Bay City Housing Authority
Bay City, Texas
What We Do
The Bay City Housing Authority was established in 1952 to provide adequate and affordable housing opportunities for low-income individuals, families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Bay City Housing Authority is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners and manages 86 Public Housing units and 270 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), previously known as Section 8. The housing programs at Bay City Housing Authority are income-based, and the eligibility guidelines are set by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Bay City Housing Authority is not equipped to accommodate Emergency Housing.
Bay City Housing Authority promotes its mission by helping tenants maintain affordable rent payments and providing qualified tenants with an option for home ownership. In addition, the Bay City Housing Authority aims to promote personal, economic, and social upward mobility to assist residents in making the transition from subsidized to non-subsidized housing and to provide an incentive to private property owners/landlords to rent to low-income families and individuals, offering timely assistance payments and excellent service.
Our Mission
The Bay City Housing Authority's mission includes providing safe, decent, sanitary, and improved living conditions for low-income families and individuals.
